Waldir Calmon e Seu Conjunto - Ritmos Melodicos Nr. 1 (1952) - 1st Radio LP

Hello, Good Evening! Late start this Sunday, but for a good reason, the coordination of Loronix Chat activities. They are now safe; let’s get back to business! I want to show something unique, a very old Waldir Calmon release and the first album issued by the legendary label Radio in the LP (10-Inch) format.

This is Waldir Calmon e Seu Conjunto - Ritmos Melodicos Nr. 1 (1952), for Radio, a unique work of Waldir Calmon, really different from what we are used to hear on most of his albums. Most of the 8 songs of Ritmos Melodicos follow the "Dancante" formula, but there are nice surprises to check. Telefone Blues is an American Blues with English lyrics sung by a gorgeous and non-identified singer. The last track is a Waldir Calmon composition with very sophisticated arrangements for the year 1952. This is a Waldir Calmon album that worth checking out. Tracks include:

01 - Nunca Mais Você Brigou (Elano de Paula / Chocolate) Samba-canção
02 - Um Caso de Amor (Aldo Taranto) Bolero
03 - Não Posso Amar Ninguém (Elano de Paula / Chocolate) Samba-canção
04 - Um Dia a Menos (Aldo Taranto) Bolero
05 - Telefone Blues (George Green) Blue
06 - Exatamente Agora (Aldo Taranto) Beguine
07 - Cantigas de Roda (Tradicional) Baião
08 - Variações (Waldir Calmon) Guaracha
